2007 Chris Austin Songwriting Contest winners, The Laws, have been called "the best duo out of Canada since Ian and Sylvia" and have been compared to Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge and the Everly Brothers. The Laws are featured as "rising stars" on the upcoming PBS special "Legends and Lyrics", highlighting some of the most influential songwriters in North America.

HOUSE CONCERT?
Anybody out there feel like hosting a house concert? Don't know what the heck we're talking about? Well, here it is.
A house concert is a concert (with The Laws) in your very own living room. It involves getting together 20 or so people (can be more) who are willing to throw in $15 or $20 toward the cause (that's us) and in return they get a whole evening of original acoustic music in it's purest and most intimate form. It usually doesn't even involve a microphone. Hey, this is what folk music is all about! People used to do this before television and radio and ipods.
